Matt Thompson Fish Skinning Knives
|
|
|
Matt
Thompson and Paul Borkowski have teamed up to develop
outstanding new fish-skinning knives. The design of
these knives allows easier access into tight areas in
the head for proper meat and tissue removal. They also
allow you to skin the flesh without tearing away at
the skin.
Tested in our own studio
with outstanding results, these fish knives will become
an essential tool in every taxidermy shop. Available
in two right hand sizes.

| Zap Gel |
| With the introduction
of ZAP-A-GAP super glue a few years ago, customers
have been requesting an even thicker glue formula.
We found this product in ZAP GEL from the makers
of ZAP-A-GAP. The 20gram (.7 ounces) tube of ZAP
GEL is the thickest formula you will find. It is
nearly toothpaste consistency, will not run on vertical
surfaces yet has all the holding power you have
come to expect from the original ZAP-A-GAP. For
real holding power in a thick formula super glue,
ZAP GEL is the answer. |

| FatVac
|
|
This tool
developed by taxidermist Bob Driver is called the FatVac.
Designed to work with a Dremel tool with a 1-inch housing
cap (products 902750 or 903955) the FatVac is deceptively
simple to use and effective for removing fat.
We had a first hand demonstration and were impressed
with the machine. The key to the system is a specially
combed wire brush that creates (as Bob calls it) a 'cyclone
action'. Literally the fat is pulled into the unit where
it is then deposited into a small plastic bag which
allows quick and easy clean up. Unit comes with a plastic
housing, wire brush, O-ring, several plastic bags and
instructions. Order today, excellent on puddle ducks.
To Use the FatVac:
1. Cut the membrane of
the bird to make degreasing easier.
2. With light to moderate
pressure, press the FatVac into the skin.
3. The fat is pulled
off the skin into the disposable bag.
The
results speak for themselves.
