Urethane Foam Instructions

Urethane Foam is the handiest material in the shop!

Mix both components together by weight. Mix thoroughly by using an electric drill with paint mixing attachment. Mix 40-45 seconds, or until it turns creamy in color. Immediately use or pour into mold. Urethane foam can be used in a fiberglass, metal, or plastic mold. It is a good idea to let the moisture go out of a fresh plaster mold before using (put the fresh mold in a warm, dry place for 24-48 hours). Wax the mold with Johnson's wax or a similar type of wax just before foaming. A new mold will need 2-3 waxings before use. After Urethane foam has been poured into the mold, let the foam set in the mold 15-20 minutes or longer before removing. Urethane Foam is a closed cell product.

Approximate quantity-mixing guide for No. 5 density foam:
Small animal body (gray fox, etc) - 9 ounces Part A with 9 ounces Part B, by weight.
Larger animals (coyote, deer head, etc. ) - 18 ounces Part A with 18 ounces Part B, by weight.
