How To Attach Antlers To A European Mount Step 1: Rasp or cut the cleaned antler plate to fit the notch on the reproduction skull. Step 2: Use a rasp, Foredom or Dremel tool to rough up the attachment area of the reproduction skull for greater adhesion. Step 3: Mix Bondo with excelsior or fiber fill and apply to the skull cavity. Hold antlers in place and allow the Bondo to harden. Step 4: Use sculpting epoxy to fill in the transition areas. Feather the areas to the contours of the reproduction skull. Step 5: Holding the epoxy under running water while rubbing with your finger will produce a texture similar to bone. Step 6: Detail the bone structures with a pin before the epoxy hardens. Paint the epoxy with Bass Belly White to match the skull color.
