How To Cut an Antelope Skull Plate







Correctly positioning the horns on an antelope mount often causes problems for taxidermists. If cut as shown in the illustrations below, the antelope skull/horn base will match the Positive-Set skull plate provided with each McKenzie antelope form.


The only work you have to do is level the horns and secure them in place.


Saw skull flush with front of horn down and back to rear center of eye socket and from rear "point" of skull forward through center of eye socket (see Diagrams A and B).
