Using a Skull Base

 

Saw Skull Exposing Brain Cavity
 

Evenly saw the bottom of the skull deep enough to expose the full brain cavity. Cut a small block of wood to fit the cavity.


Fill the brain cavity with auto body filler, being careful to exclude air pockets.

Set Block in Skull
 

Push the block of wood into the auto body filler until it is flush with the bottom of the skull.Remove any excess filler.Let the flller cure, then drill two small pilot holes into the block of wood.

Locate for Pilot Holes in Panel
 

Hold skull in place on the panel and tap the top of the skull. Carefully remove the skull.


You should be able to see where dust fell out of the pilot holes onto the panel. This is where you should now drill pilot holes through the panel.

Attach the Panel to the Post
 

Attach the panel to its post with one of the lag bolts provided.


Note: Attach as shown for a table display or rotate panel 180° for wall display.


Once secured in position put a small amount of clear latex caulk into the bolt cavity and insert the wooden cap provided. Wipe off any excess caulk.

Mount Skull on the Panel
 

Attach the skull to the panel using drywall screws inserted into the pilot holes.

Attach the bottom Panel
 

Finally, attach the bottom panel to the post with the lag bolt provided.
